ABOUT SAINIK SCHOOLS


There is total 33 Sainik Schools across the country. Sainik Schools Society runs Sainik Schools. Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Sainik Schools prepare Cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other Training Academies for officers.

These educational institutions have distinguished themselves as premier feeder establishments for the Armed Forces, boasting a track record of producing over 15,000 officers who have served in various branches.

Admission to Class 6 and Class 9 of the 33 Sainik Schools for the academic year 2024-25, is through a written exam called AISSEE 2024. Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All-India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE). Admission will be based on the position of the candidate in the Merit List of AISSEE 2023, subject to availability of vacancies, compliance with other eligibility requirements, medical fitness and verification of documents.

For Class 6

  • • Age – A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years.
  • • Girls- Admission for Girls is open for Class 6. Age criteria is same as boys.

For Class 9

  • • Age – A candidate should be between 13 and 15 years.
  • • Girls- Admission to Class 9 is also open for girls.
  • • Criteria- He should have passed Class 8 exam from a recognized school at the time of admission.

FOR CLASS 6TH - Boys & Girls, Born between 01 April 2013 to 31 March 2015.

FOR CLASS 9TH-Boys & Girls, Born between 01 April 2010 to 31 March 2012.

A. Written Examination for Class 6

The written part of the examination consists of four subjects-

B. Result

Merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured in written test. It will be prepared school wise, category wise (Home State and outside State), separately for boys and girls.

Students finding their names in the merit list shall be called for the Medical Test.
